A day in Munich

Behold, the Dutch gang ready exploring Munich: my brother KH and his caretakers from the art gallery facility `De Kaai` and of course myself.
Unripe apricots & no croissants
We had breakfast at our hotel first. It was still pandemic time so that means there were restrictions and because of this the breakfast option in the hotel was rather small. Normally there is a buffet but this time we could only choose between two kinds of sandwiches (where are the croissants?!), yogurts, tea or coffee, and unripe apricots. We also had to wear masks as well. Altogether not a fulfilling breakfast.
The courtyard is really nice and zen.
Half itinerary half aimless
Time to explore Munich!
Since my breakfast that morning was disappointing, we stopped by to grab coffee and a real German pretzel.

Hi from us at Marienplatz or Market Square. Also called Schrannenplatz, the square is the oldest part of the city dating back to 700’s.

Also, it was around 30C degrees (86 F). The water looked really refreshing.

For lunch we had Italian food.
Pizza margherita (my fav) and gazpacho which was very salty.

After lunch we visited a museum.
I`m still using my uni pass to get student discount🙊.

This gave me Raised by the Wolf vibes but it`s replica of the famous Roman she-wolf.
The Zodiac ceiling in the Music Room is probably one of my favourite. There was an opera singer performing too which made this room extra more beautiful.

The main reason why we are here in Munich is because of my brother K. and his outsider artworks that are displayed and presented in this museum Haus der Kunst. How proud and how exciting we think it is to see his paintings hanging in the museum!

Though Munich has no beach or sea, you can still bring your surfboard and surf in the city!

Then it was dinner time. And it`s Italian food again.
Since I don`t need to drive a car and our hotel is like 500m (0,3mile) away, I`ve decided to drink a glass or two. And that - for an Asian woman like me - is quite daring!
Don`t let this pretty picture fool you because the risotto here is super undercooked! The center of the rice grain was still hard and grainy :(
Though my brother K. seems to enjoy his risotto with squid ink.
Not in the picture: the lemon meringue as dessert. That was yum! Also, I`ve spotted this lovely view of a cat catching some air at the window with his/her human!

EN Or you can call them ‘scrubbies’ but I use them to create whip cream for my crochet cakes and cupcakes! They also make great home decorations by putting them into a maison jar! Did I just inspire you to make them as a gift for your friend, mum, girlfriend..? I’ll say: go for it! NL Of ze worden ook wel ‘scrubbies’ genoemd en ze zijn bedoeld om je lichaam mee te wassen en te scrubben. Maar mijn versie is klein en dienen ze als toefjes slagroom op mijn gehaakte taartjes en cupcakes! Ook doen ze aardig als huis decoraties bijvoorbeeld in een leuke glazen pot! Ik zou zeggen: maak ze voor je vriendin, mama, GF!  Echt een leuk blij makerij c:    You need:  Cotton yarn or wool ,  crochet hook (cotton = 2 - 3 mm, wool = 3 - 4 mm) ,  scissor ,  needle       I've actually stuffed a bit of stuffing in it.    The Steps: Row 1: chain 11 Row 2: skip first stitch and start with the 2nd stitch (see picture)

DIY: Crochet banana

EN This week is officially my back-to-work week from my 6 wonderful weeks off Summer break. And like always it takes some time to adjust, to get my inner work engine warmed up again and like always take a deep breath. It’s kind of the same feeling going back to school but instead of school it’s work. Yay. Since it’s my first work week and it’s first of September why not kick it off with a DIY post. You know to keep our mind working! And this time I take you guys through another fruity crochet tutorial where this time it’s all about the bananas! DIY: Crochet Miniature Cinnamon Rolls

EN It’s holidays and Liberation Days in The Netherlands and with all these delicious day offs, I’ve finally got more time to do my yarn works. And yes sleeping in late is also great. But mostly I’ve been really productive with my yarn works, whereas the most recent ones - the puff pastry/Danish I have received a fair amount of likes and sweet comments on my social media. Thank you! Being productive means also I take effort and time in perfecting my yarn works but not too hard to make luckily! Especially the snail rolls (cinnamon rolls/pain aux raisin) are really easy and fun to make.
