Project: matcha bread spread

Image
EN Last year in Hong Kong I have discovered some awesome spreads for bread! These awesome sauce spreads are 'matcha spreads' and I fell in love. I have made a blog post about it right here also. Now that I'm no longer in Hong Kong and my matcha bread spread stash is long gone and no supermarket here in Holland sells them, it pretty comes down to me myself and I. That's right I am creating my own matcha spreads from scratch and it is surprisingly utterly easy. You probably have all the ingredients you need in your kitchen most likely. I just followed a recipe for chocolate paste spread as the base and simply replaced the dark chocolate for matcha! If you like love matcha, or you have friends who likes loves matcha just make this simple recipe!    NL Vorig jaar in Hong Kong ontdekte ik iets heel lekkers voor op brood, namelijk matcha (Japanese groene thee) pasta en ik werd zwaar verliefd op dit spul. Ik heb trouwens een blogpost geplaatst over deze...

Project: green tea melon pan

EN Today I have a bun recipe for you guys and it is one of my favorites at Asian bakeries as well: the Japanese melon pan/bread/bun (メロンパン). It is basically a soft bread bun covered with sweet cookie dough crust on top. A nice texture between soft and hard. Me personally would also call these melon pans the Japanese pineapple buns, referring to our own Chinese pineapple buns (菠蘿包). When I first ate the melon pan I thought there would be actual melon flavor to it but nope. It is called melon pan mainly for it shape and pattern. At least the original melon pan because nowadays you can have it different flavors too such as green tea! Like my recipe in today's blogpost. I hope you guys try out because bread making seems to be difficult, but it really is ok and fresh bread straight of the oven are the best thing in the morning am I right? NL Hoera een recept! Dit keer laat ik zien hoe je een van mijn favorieten broodjes maakt, namelijk de:    Japanse melon pan...

Project: Japanese bread buns

EN Recipe with the word 'Japanese' in the title makes me exciting and Sonia's recipe ' Japanese Sandwich Buns ' trigged that too. That and Japanese style of bread is often really tasty and super soft and I happen to eat it a lot when I'm back in Asia or China Town for that matter so I was exciting too to try out Sonia's recipe. I've also giving my own twist to it by adding a flavor: black sesame! Not only does it give flavour but also a nice warm gray color!

Project: Charcoal Bread II

Image
EN Charcoal bread! I’ve missed you! I’ve made charcoal bread before ( 3 years ago ) and as far I can remember, it was not bad breadloaf! I’ve also received loa(f)ds of positive comments too and lots of people thought that my charcoal bread looks like rocks which I kind of agree because they do look like rocks, huh! Edible bamboo charcoal is considered as  superfood like chia seeds, kale and linseed oil. And bamboo charcoal is also found in a lot of different foods too such as in crackers! Not surprising because bamboo charcoal is packed with health benefits from bleaching teeth to expelling toxic ( food poison ) in your body! Great! It makes this homemade black bread of mine that is chock full of gluten along with bamboo charcoal very healthy and tasty because maybe the best part is that it still taste like white bread. Try out my bread recipe sometime! NL Houtskool brood, ik heb je gemist! Ik heb eens eerder houtskool brood gemaakt  ...
