Vacay Friesland/Frisia/Fryslân

Our vacation in Friesland, also known as Frisia or Fryslân in the Frisian language. Friesland is one of the provinces of the Netherlands. While Dutch is spoken here, the province also has its own official language: Frisian. I've always wanted to visit this beautiful province, so R. and I spent a week exploring it.

Our first stop is the city of Sneek. As luck would have it, it's also Sneekweek, the town's annual festival. The city is especially lively, with markets, a funfair, and boats filling the canals. We opted for a quieter activity instead: a visit to the museum.

And the museum is super quiet, which we love. 

Overall, a museum about the maritime history of Frisia.
And they also have a kids section and this section was fun! 

And we had this place all by ourselves, woo! 

As dinner we got ourselves delicious falafels and ice cream.

EN Or you can call them ‘scrubbies’ but I use them to create whip cream for my crochet cakes and cupcakes! They also make great home decorations by putting them into a maison jar! Did I just inspire you to make them as a gift for your friend, mum, girlfriend..? I’ll say: go for it! NL Of ze worden ook wel ‘scrubbies’ genoemd en ze zijn bedoeld om je lichaam mee te wassen en te scrubben. BIRDY & Griff concerts

The year of 2024 was the year of concert visiting: BIRDY and Griff. That brings my total to just three concert visits in my entire life. Yes, wow,  not that many, ha! I’ve been a big fan of Birdy ever since she released her cover singles Skinny Love and People Help the People , so I was thrilled to finally hear both songs live at the Caprera stage. She sounded absolutely amazing and crystal clear, just like on her studio recordings. By the way, Caprera is a gorgeous open-air venue. If one of your favorite artists ever performs there, I definitely recommend going! My second concert was in Belgium to see Griff live at De ROMA. De ROMA is a beautiful Art Deco cultural center and performance venue in Antwerp. I started to love Griff because she’s half Chinese and half Jamaican, she writes and performs her own songs, plays piano and guitar, and even makes her own clothes from thrifted pieces. DIY: Crochet banana

EN This week is officially my back-to-work week from my 6 wonderful weeks off Summer break. And like always it takes some time to adjust, to get my inner work engine warmed up again and like always take a deep breath. It’s kind of the same feeling going back to school but instead of school it’s work. Yay. Since it’s my first work week and it’s first of September why not kick it off with a DIY post. You know to keep our mind working! And this time I take you guys through another fruity crochet tutorial where this time it’s all about the bananas! Happy bunch of bananas because a banana provides good energy to our body, anti-stress and of course is a good snack for every monkeyheads like us!
