A day in Shenzhen/深圳 '18
EN
Once upon a time in Huizhou two years ago. This city was where I resided and became my home for the next couple of weeks in China. It's my first time in China and China is big and seeing this wide country in just 2 weeks limits me to a couple of main cities visits and places such as Beijing and Shenzhen. And the uncountable of bubble tea shops visits.

Train time
We decide to visit Shenzhen by train. Shenzhen is a large city in the south that is near Hong Kong as well. And that gives me a warm homey feeling knowing that I`ll be near HK -my other home town even though I can`t visit it because my China visum only allows me to go in&out China for just two times. Meh. Anyways! The train station is packed with people, there are many security check-ins and staff members screaming directions to everybody. A streamlined chaos is what I`d describe but eventually we got off to Shenzhen.
I`m so tanned
So. Many. People.
Cute traffel coin thingy.
I like to fold candy wrappers into a crane bird. #boredbutcreative
Shenzhen/深圳
We have arrived in this buzzing city! Next is meeting up with my family for lunch at Wongtee Plaza mall.
Oh right it`s the weekend, the busiest days when everybody seems to be going out and have fun reading in the bookstores or perhaps meeting up for family lunches like I do.
Yum cha - 食點心
Yum cha is also known as going out to have dim sum food at a Chinese restaurants. We were at this fine restaurant whom I forgot the name but it was good. Especially the custard filled buns in pig shapes. I don`t do yum cha too often but when I do it`s always a treat going to have dim sum! Especially with the family because they are usually the one paying it
ha...
My all time favourites.
food & family = best combo
After a satisfying long lunch me and my family strolled around this mall and we didn`t go out a lot because outside it was above 35°C. And inside the mall there was no UV-light and there was ac and that was perfect for us all.
Well well well, there`s a Vero Moda and Jack Jones in China as well! I`m surprised. The collection are different than ours in Holland though.
My very own big solo bubble partea.
Concrete Jungle
Oh we did went outside after all with high shiny buildings greeting us.
And we`re back at Huizhou home. My aunties home reminded me a bit of those TVB/Chinese tv show houses lol. Let me give you a small house tour!
This here is the living room or the place where we binge watch Chinese tv shows. This is where I`ve rediscovered how good some Chinese shows are like the Story of Yanxi Palace, man such a good show with gorgeous costumes and acting. I think my favorite actress is Tan Zhuo (谭卓) who portraits the evil Noble Consort Huixian - I was enjoying her evilness so so much! I also like Qin Lan (秦嵐) as she plays the benevolent Fuca Rongyin empress and I find her so beautiful.
My auntie plays this Chinese music instrument Guqin.
Behind these cute curtains is the kitchen!
My bedroom where I spend my yoga and window viewing and gazing (is that a thing?).
At night where I me and my cousin craving for milk teas! The ones at Dakasi is pretty nice! I wish I had a bubble tea shop serving exquisite bubble teas in the neighbourhood. Sigh. I can make my own tapioca pearls at home though. However I`m still figuring out how the tea in milk teas are made.
Homey vegan food.
And back to my windowsill in my bedroom, stargazing and reminiscing my wonderful time in China.

Ah, seeing those train tickets just remind me of my trip last year. Wow I can't imagine dealing with that heat in a concrete jungle!
ReplyDeleteAlso not sure if it's just my device, but the last half of the post, the formatting is a little strange and I just see a thin column of text?
