Must Eat: Sapporo Bier Garten

On one of our last days in Hokkaido we went to Japan`s only beer museum of whole: Sapporo Beer Museum. This brick building was once a booming brewery since 1876 and now turned into an heritage  lovely recreation site for foodies, beer and history lovers.

 My family and I went for the free museum tours. There`s a premium tour with beer tasting as well but that one is of course not free. Don`t worry we got our Sapporo beers at the Sapporo Bier Garten restaurant.

Op een van onze laatste dagen in Hokkaido gingen we langs de enige bier museum van heel Japan: Sapporo Beer Museum. Dit stenen gebouw was dus ooit een bloeiende brouwerij sinds 1876, maar is nu een erfgoed geworden en omgetoverd tot een recreatie park voor foodies, bier en geschiedenis verkenners.

 Mijn familie en ik hadden een gratis museum tour gedaan. Er was een premium toer met een bierproeverij maar deze was uiteraard niet gratis. Geen zorgen wij hadden onze bier gekregen bij de Sapporo Bier Garten restaurant.

These carpaccio octopus was so fresh and melts in your mouth! A simply delicious cold dish.
My cousin thought this rum sausage roll tasted like a German wurst.
My ultimate comfort food: rice, seafood and lots of garlic!

Most people in the grill room had ordered a BBQ at their table. I think we were the few tables who didn`t.

    They way you described the carpaccio octopus sounds so good! I want to try it so badly! // I love that the sign for the vanilla ice cream (?) had to specify that it wasn't beer flavoured hahah -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's

      I would go back to Bier Garten just for the food such as the bowl of fried rice and octopus carpaccio! It was really really good! We were at a beer place and there were kids walking around so they had to put up a sign that says no alcohol in some of the ice creams :P Xx

EN Or you can call them ‘scrubbies’ but I use them to create whip cream for my crochet cakes and cupcakes! They also make great home decorations by putting them into a maison jar! Did I just inspire you to make them as a gift for your friend, mum, girlfriend..? I’ll say: go for it! BIRDY & Griff concerts

The year of 2024 was the year of concert visiting: BIRDY and Griff. That brings my total to just three concert visits in my entire life. Yes, wow,  not that many, ha! I’ve been a big fan of Birdy ever since she released her cover singles Skinny Love and People Help the People , so I was thrilled to finally hear both songs live at the Caprera stage. She sounded absolutely amazing and crystal clear, just like on her studio recordings. By the way, Caprera is a gorgeous open-air venue. If one of your favorite artists ever performs there, I definitely recommend going! My second concert was in Belgium to see Griff live at De ROMA. De ROMA is a beautiful Art Deco cultural center and performance venue in Antwerp. I started to love Griff because she’s half Chinese and half Jamaican, she writes and performs her own songs, plays piano and guitar, and even makes her own clothes from thrifted pieces. Talk about multi-talented, right? She’s still so young, and I’m really rooting for a success...

EN This week is officially my back-to-work week from my 6 wonderful weeks off Summer break. And like always it takes some time to adjust, to get my inner work engine warmed up again and like always take a deep breath. It’s kind of the same feeling going back to school but instead of school it’s work. Yay. Since it’s my first work week and it’s first of September why not kick it off with a DIY post.
