Is it Leicester or Leichester? II

Part 2 and day 2 of me breathing and exploring Leicester. And also my final day in Leicester and that means my last chance to get to know Leicester.

I did a little background research before by checking out good ol’ Tripadvisor for the must-sees, places to eat and places to shop in Lei town.

Me and friend W. mostly hung out around the city centre, walking around aimlessly.
Because sometimes you’ll find hidden treasures when you walk around aimlessly on unknown land and path.

As so we accidentally bumped into Leicester Cathedral, Guildhalls and the King Richard III exhibition due the new discovered bone remains of this previously old English king.

I had no plans seeing this but since we are already here, hecks why not enter it (and it was free). And because I’m a huge fan of old buildings like this cathedral.

I’m surprised to see how much this small town has to offer. It has a mall for your essential needs but also lots of one-man boutiques as well. Lei town offers good spacious parks too and I’ve noticed the large range of Indian restaurants as well. Lei town even got a prison jail facility!

I could see myself living in this town honestly ha.

Deel 2 en dag 2 met mijn avontuurlijke verkenning in stadje Leicester. En tevens mijn laatste dag in Leicester en dat betekent ook mijn laatste kans om Leicester te kennen.

Van tevoren heb ik natuurlijk alvast informatie opgezocht met behulp van Tripadvisor voor de ‘must-sees’, leuke eettentjes en shop plekjes in Leicester.

Ik ​​en vriend W. hingen vooral rond in het centrum waar we lekker doelloos rondlopen.
Want verborgen leuke hotspots vind je wanneer je doelloos rondloopt.

Hierdoor kwamen we Leicester Cathedral, Guildhall en koning Richard III exhibition op ons pad tegen.
Ik wist van tevoren over deze King Richard III exhibition maar had niet echt behoefte deze te bezoeken eigenlijk. Maar aangezien we deze bij toeval hebben ontdekt kunnen we net zo goed naar binnen gaan en bovendien was het gratis.

Ik ben verrast over dit kleine stadje Leicester. Wat heeft deze veel te bieden zeg! Het heeft een winkelcentrum voor de nodige behoeftes maar ook tal van eenmanszaakjes. Leicester heeft mooie ruime parken en ik merk ook het vele aantal Indiaanse restaurants. Leicester heeft zelfs een gevangenis!

 Chai break
Chai tea latte at Costa Coffee. Taste like Starbucks. 

This was at Fenwick shop and I find it so odd to see Chinese signs on welcoming signs. 


Dinner time
@TheCountinghousePub. I had the scampi and chips (because fish and chips were out sadly) which was ok. The lemon meringue pie on the other hand was delightful!

    That "Cheapside" street sign makes me giggle. Probably because I know it's actually not cheap there! What a gorgeous town :)

EN Or you can call them ‘scrubbies’ but I use them to create whip cream for my crochet cakes and cupcakes! They also make great home decorations by putting them into a maison jar! Did I just inspire you to make them as a gift for your friend, mum, girlfriend..? I’ll say: go for it! EN This week is officially my back-to-work week from my 6 wonderful weeks off Summer break. And like always it takes some time to adjust, to get my inner work engine warmed up again and like always take a deep breath. It’s kind of the same feeling going back to school but instead of school it’s work. Yay. Since it’s my first work week and it’s first of September why not kick it off with a DIY post. DIY: Crochet Miniature Cinnamon Rolls

EN It’s holidays and Liberation Days in The Netherlands and with all these delicious day offs, I’ve finally got more time to do my yarn works. And yes sleeping in late is also great. But mostly I’ve been really productive with my yarn works, whereas the most recent ones - the puff pastry/Danish I have received a fair amount of likes and sweet comments on my social media. Thank you! Being productive means also I take effort and time in perfecting my yarn works but not too hard to make luckily!
