DIY: bear/Micky Mouse ears!

EN

It’s carnival in The Netherlands next week and that means people are dressing up and partyhard. See it as our version of Halloween but without the candy part. (:c)
Too be honest the only fun part I find with carnival are the dressing up part.
And one thing for sure, people makeshift their own outfits. Think: dishcloth turns into a cape and rubber gloves are super hero gloves etc.

And therefore I was inspired to do this really easypeasy and from scratch DIY: a bear/Mickey Mouse headband! If you are planning to go dress up like one of course.
NL

You'll need: iron wire (I've used a 0,7mm one), cutting pliers, black ribbons, scissors

Round and a round and a round and around........................

For a solid one version...

Which one do you like?

Da Steps:
  1. Measure your head with the wire. I've made a double wire for extra securities c:
  2. Twist the ends of the wires together to secure the base of the headband.
  3. Same thing with the bear/Mickey Mouse ears. Secure the ears by folding the ends around the headband.
  4. Start wrapping the headband with the ribbon. I kind of wrapped a blank area a couple of times just to make sure it's all sealed.
  5. Once your headband is wrapped up, I kind of tuck-in the end somewhere in the seams/gaps. You can always glue it.
  6. For the Mickey Mouse ears version: I just zig-zag my way through the ears as shown in the picture.
good luck and happy Carnival! Don't do stupid things...

  8. These look super cute... And super easy, I already own my own mickey ears. I wish Australia has some sort of dress up traditions. The only opportunities we have are at birthday parties and High School Carnivals oh and I guess whenever Mardigra, Halloween events happen. But its not really broadly celebrated.
