My CNY
EN
Yesterday 19 February marks down
the Chinese New Year and I hope my fellow Asians had a great one c:
I guess I did what most
fellow Asians would do: wearing red, eat traditional food, receiving ‘red pockets’ (my DIY) and having a nice
lazy feast time!
I’ve only received a few red
pocket money this year as most of my family members lives in the other side
of other world. Sigh, there goes my wealth.
This New Chinese Year will
be the year of the Goat/Sheep and if you are born in the following years: 1979,
1991, and 2003 – it’s going to be your lucky year! Even it is not my year, I
don’t believe in this extra luck. Sorry if I bring down the red happy Chinese
mood ha-ha but that’s how I feel it. Luck is not depending on Chinese zodiac animals right?
CNY is to me a happy time
with families and enjoy food together and if you follow the tradition this
whole event last for 23 days!
Party on folks!

You look so grown up! Love the red lipstick on you :) Happy Chinese New Year!
ReplyDeleteSounds so fun! Haha I'm with you, luck shouldn't rely on Chinese Zodiac animals. BUT, I will say, that when my year rolls around (the Ox) I might be a bit more than excited.. haha!

ah i miss reading your blog. i have been missing so much TAT
ReplyDeletelike you, i don't believe that luck depends on the chinese zodiac. i don't really believe in feng shui in the first place haha my parents want to kill me every time i admit that. ah, sorry i'm agnostic ^^;;
and yees, the amount of wealth i receive per year seems to be declining. ugh, sucks. when i was a kid, they seem to be thicker pfft
there wasn't tang yuen in my family, from my dad's side of relatives or my mom's. there were shark fin's soup and sea cucumbers though because really, sea cucumber is important during cny ahaha.. i feel bad eating the shark fin's soup after not eating for years though. i'd like to apologize to all the sharks later :s haha
anyway, happy chinese new year :D
Woohoo for red pockets! We always buy frozen tong yuen, I'm curious to see how you would make them!
ReplyDeleteHappy chinese new year, mei! I bought an art book with my red pocket money, lol.

Look at you Ms. Gorgeous! I'm crossing my finger for some extra sheep luck this year (new job, new job, new job!) and we had a relaxing lunar new years with family -- so much food and drinks to go around! It was worth the short time there and the drive.
ReplyDeleteGong xi fa cai!
ReplyDeletehappy cny girl!! you looked superb awesome in red lipstick!

ReplyDeleteHappy (belated) Chinese New Year! My mom makes tong yuen often, but I never really gave it a chance, not sure why anymore. Next time I think I'm going to try ^_~ Yay for red pockets! <3
ReplyDeleteHappy Chinese New Year! The tong yueng look delish and you're very pretty with the red lippe and top! :) I love how you added red tulips which also scream Holland in these pictures. Wish you the loveliest 23 days ♥
