Pre-Christmas DIY with Papercloud

EN

When someone asks me to come over to craft. I'll simply say: yes. Because I'm by no secret a lover of craft and creations and so when Papercloud - a Dutch puzzle and craft magazine publisher - asked me if I was interested in creating DIYs from their new upcoming Christmas crafting book I frinkin` said yes of course what an honor! I had to take 2,5 hours train to Amsterdam but it was all worth the experience.

Eventually, I have arrived at Papercloud headquarters and I wasn't alone and met other bloggers as well namely Fleur, Ivette and Irene and they were such lovely ladies! Not to mention they were all mums as well! This was new to me because I thought blogging was a teenage kind of thing and don't get me wrong, these mums were looking young! Blogging should be open at all ages anyway but this was the first time I witness blogging mums in action and how big their influences they are in the blogging world. At the end of the day we all shared the same passion: being creative.

Let's check out the behind the scene moments at Papercloud down below!

3D Christmas Bell Origami
With DIY`s I like to get challenged so I went straight down with the most difficult one which is the 3D Christmas Bell. This DIY is quite advanced because firstly you need to make 120 individual pieces and secondly you assemble these 120 individual pieces. This took me literally 5 hours to finish the whole thing and if it wasn`t for the great help from my co-bloggers I`d have quit.
I was so happy when it was done! All the DIY that me and the other bloggers made was a sort of a final test round just to see if there are any typo`s in the instruction, misplaced photo`s and printings before Papercloud print the whole final thing and sell it at stores.
The final results will be also published as well which is super awesome of course!
120 pieces
Ready? Set? Go!
What do you need: just a pair of scissors and doses patience. What I have learned throughout this DIY process is that using a glue is not a bad idea at all because during my 120 pieces assembling, they come loose very easily and so glueing them solves this problem.

whoops, wrong move
So folding the 120 pieces was a piece of cake even though it`s a lot. Then comes the assembling time and that`s where I went wrong. I prefer images/video/real life instructions than a written text and this DIY was a written one and even though I have tried my best to read with full caution I just couldn`t wrapped my finger around it. I keep stacking the 120 pieces on top which is where I went wrong because you don`t stack it on top BUT next to each other in rows (thanks to the help of my fellow blogger).
The Answer
1. Stack it next to each other
2. Connect the end with the beginning to form a ring. This is round 1
3. Place on top of round 1 the next ring.
4. Here comes a tricky part. Flip the entire thing inside out carefully without falling apart. Once it is done continue stacking on top the origami pieces the same thing with step 1
Finished!
Can you believe that this 3D Christmas Bell has over 120 small pieces init? Pretty cool right!

Rij 2 is klaar!

Succes!

      Xx
