Holika Holika Golden Monkey Glamor Lips Kit // First Use

EN

Its Fall and soon to be Winter and my lips around these seasons usually turn dry and chapped and awful. These seasons I am absolutely on full mode at applying lots of greasy and nourishing lip balm. Anything to avoid chapped lips and to keep my lips hydrated and beautiful right. I'm not really a makeup girl but when it comes to skincare I am serious and this include lipcare too.

In Hong Kong I have bought fun lip care kit from the Korean brand Holika Holika and it's called 'Holika Holika Golden Monkey Glamour Lip 3-step Kit'. And I have tried it out! Read all about it including my thoughts down below!

It promises
- tackles chapped and dry lips
- leaves a glamorous lips behind
- leaves a voluptuous lips behind
Step 1: exfoliating
Love that it`s lip shaped pad! The pad is moist and feels a bit gritty and once I start rubbing it on my lips all this scrub material on the pad is working it`s magic. My lips feels warm and stingy after this quite intense exfoliating proces. Lets move on to step 2!
Step 2: gel lip mask patch
After the exfoliating in step 1, my lips were in desperate need of a softer and gentle care and luckily step 2 was that kind of care. Time for the gel lip mask! The gel mask feels soft and is big enough to cover your lips and surrounding and you leave it on for about 15 minutes. The gel patch feels cool and soft,
I like it!
And it holds and sticks quite nicely on my lips!
Step 3: glossy lip balm
After I removed the gel lip mask, my lips felt moist, plump and pretty good! It was time to apply the aftercare which is this glossy lip balm. The amount was good enough to last a couple of weeks. It smells like honey and very nice! Also, the glossy lip balm feels quite sticky too.

I don`t like the packaging for this step because I don`t think it`s a good design for what you need to store that last a couple of weeks. The packaging was so sticky with an unhygienic feel at the end.
The result
The overall first time experience was positive and fun mostly. My lips felt moist, nourished and glossy. My lips also feels plump but not voluptuous on the outside and that part is where I am just a tiny bit disappointed about. But the main thing for me was of course to have moist healthy lips and this part for me earns a big thumbs up. My lips are still feeling soft (not so plump feel anymore) up to this very day.
The pros and cons
- tackles chapped and dry lips ☑
- leaves a glamorous lips behind ☑
- leaves a voluptuous lips behind ☒

- the ingredient list is full of flower and herb extract (such as rosemary, lavender) which I can appreciate.
- cute packaging but should have a better design for step 3 (see above).
- a decent sell price of HK$35.

  1. This looks fun! Usually I'll just lather my lips with chapstick a few minutes before I head so that it's not too shiny :P Probably not the best way to go about it, but it's practical! Not sure if it's effective haha -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's
