My 3rd French Macarons

Happy belated Good Friday and upcoming Easter! My households will be a feast again in the upcoming days.

A few weeks back I’ve made Dutch egg cakes and the result was not only a satisfied belly but also 1 leftover egg white from the recipe. Since it’s been awhile that I’ve made French macarons I’ve decided to turn the egg whites into French macarons. I don’t want to lose my macarons baking mojo because all my last batches are keep turning better and better.

This time I’ve also challenged myself and instead of only making round macarons, I’ve piped egg shaped, a heart shaped and even a cat shaped macaron! All in nice strawberry flavour with a filling of simple but delicious chocolate ganache.

Fijne lange paasweekend iedereen! De komende dagen in huize Mei staat in het teken van lekker eten alweer.

Een paar weken terug heb ik eierkoeken gebakken en het resultaat was niet alleen een tevreden buik, maar ook 1 overgebleven eiwit van het recept. Het is alweer een tijdje geleden dat ik Franse macarons heb gemaakt en besloot daarom om het eiwit in deze Franse delicatesse te veranderen. Ik wil natuurlijk deze bakkunst niet verleren want al mijn laatste keren zijn ze best aardig gelukt!

Dit keer heb ik mezelf een beetje uitgedaagd. In plaats van alleen ronde macarons heb ik een eivormige, een hartvormige en zelfs een katvormige macaron gespoten! Allen met aardbeiensmaak en een vulling van eenvoudige maar heerlijke chocolade ganache.

Obvious a nooby with a creating chocolate decorating. 
However I'm quite happy with this one.

    I have never tried making an macarons, I always find them too sweet..It would be good to eat them with black coffee..yummy.

DIY: Mini Whip Cream

EN Or you can call them ‘scrubbies’ but I use them to create whip cream for my crochet cakes and cupcakes! They also make great home decorations by putting them into a maison jar! Did I just inspire you to make them as a gift for your friend, mum, girlfriend..? I’ll say: go for it! NL Of ze worden ook wel ‘scrubbies’ genoemd en ze zijn bedoeld om je lichaam mee te wassen en te scrubben. Maar mijn versie is klein en dienen ze als toefjes slagroom op mijn gehaakte taartjes en cupcakes! Ook doen ze aardig als huis decoraties bijvoorbeeld in een leuke glazen pot! Ik zou zeggen: maak ze voor je vriendin, mama, GF!  Echt een leuk blij makerij c:    You need:  Cotton yarn or wool ,  crochet hook (cotton = 2 - 3 mm, wool = 3 - 4 mm) ,  scissor ,  needle       I've actually stuffed a bit of stuffing in it.    The Steps: Row 1: chain 11 Row 2: skip first stitch and start with the 2nd stitch (see picture)

DIY: Crochet banana

EN This week is officially my back-to-work week from my 6 wonderful weeks off Summer break. And like always it takes some time to adjust, to get my inner work engine warmed up again and like always take a deep breath. It’s kind of the same feeling going back to school but instead of school it’s work. Yay. Since it’s my first work week and it’s first of September why not kick it off with a DIY post. DIY: Crochet Miniature Cinnamon Rolls

EN It’s holidays and Liberation Days in The Netherlands and with all these delicious day offs, I’ve finally got more time to do my yarn works. And yes sleeping in late is also great. But mostly I’ve been really productive with my yarn works, whereas the most recent ones - the puff pastry/Danish I have received a fair amount of likes and sweet comments on my social media. Thank you! Being productive means also I take effort and time in perfecting my yarn works but not too hard to make luckily! Especially the snail rolls (cinnamon rolls/pain aux raisin) are really easy and fun to make.
