Summer adventure in Rimini - day 2

EN A day where I start off really bed-clinging because lack of goodnight sleep and again the heat in Italy is making my body extra heavy. But after a good breakfast my body was back motivated and I was ready to explore Rimini town centre! We took the bus and we were probably the only one who paid for the bus ride because no one else stamped their tickets except us and there were no one who checked the tickets either! Darn, we could have saved 1,30 bucks from this one. Anyway, we have made it all safe and sound to the city centre of Rimini and this city centre is nothing a like as the one from Florence as in less touristy vibe, density of people and the a bit more laidback kind of buildings and surroundings (beach houses!). And of course the beach itself but more of that in the next post! Turns out Rimini have a few historical spots here and there too. We witnessed the Arch of Augustus and walked through under it and then off to a nearby park and strolled around while enjoying the shadows which were forming a shield against the 35C sunny weather. And look! They even got an H&M! Oddly as I did bought something here whereas I couldn’t find anything interesting when I was in H&M-Florence. All this walking around made us tummy rumble and we ate French fries! More of that coming soon.

NL Een dag waar ik begon met bedhangen vanwege gebrek aan goede nachtrust en weer die hitte in Italië die mijn lichaam extra zwaar maakte. Maar na een goed ontbijt was mijn lichaam weer terug en gemotiveerd en startklaar om Rimini te verkennen! We namen de bus en we waren waarschijnlijk de enige die legaal in die bus zaten want niemand liet zijn tickets stempelen en er was ook niemand die de kaartjes controleerden! Verdorie, die €1,30 voor niets uit gegeven. Maar goed, we kwamen veilig aan in het centrum van Rimini stad en dit centrum is niet te vergelijken met die van Florence zoals minder toeristische vibe, drukte en meer nuchtere gebouwen en omgeving (strandhuisjes!). En natuurlijk het strand zelf, maar meer van dat in de volgende post! Rimini heeft namelijk hier en daar een paar historische bezichtigingen. We waren getuige van de Boog van Augustus en we liepen er onderdoor en vervolgens door naar een nabijgelegen parkje. Het was een fijn park met genoeg bomen die een schild van fijne schaduwen vormden. Heerlijk tegen die zon en hitte! En kijk, ze hebben zelfs een H&M hier! Grappig dat ik hier wat heb gekocht, terwijl ik niets interessant kon vinden in de H&M-Florence. Al het geloop krijgen we een knorrende maag dus we aten frietjes! Meer over dat binnenkort.
