B&B: Soggiorno Sogna Firenze

EN

For our 2-day stay in Florence me and my friend F. didn’t choose for fancy bedrooms but for a bedroom. With breakfast, because that’s all we need to re-fuel our exploring mode through Florence: a good sleep and a morning filled belly - a B&B.

I have scout through the area of Florence for (cheap) hotels, B&B’s and even apartments and stumbled on B&B Soggiorno Sogna Firenze. And I still have no idea how to pronounce the name. I’ve actually stumbled on their 2nd B&B first but since that B&B was fully booked I am glad that the owner came with a solution on this B&B!

I must admit that the English language is not strong in Italy and I’m so glad that my friend F. is Italian because I think I’ll have to deal with lots of miscommunication if I went solo. But luckily the booking and reservation with this B&B went smoothly and their website has an English option.
Tripadvisor as well didn’t show any big no-no signs so I was looking forward for our checking in!

And we had a lovely, warm, respectful and safe stay at Soggiorno Sogna Firenze. This is why I like B&B’s because of the homey feel, interior and personal interaction with the owner itself.
Even there is a language barrier between me and the owner.

And of course no posts without pictures so please look ahead below!

It was about a 15-20 min. walk from the Florence head train station with a hot 35°C sun in our backs and oh boy how happy was I to see the canopy from far!

My room

So this is my humble little room with private bathroom! I love the French bed, the kitsch decorations, the free wi-fi and the AC the most!

No wait I lied, I like their azure blue doors the most. So beautiful!

+ a free bottle of bubble water which was a bit warm thanks to the boiling weather but o well.

The hall lobby

I suspect that the B&B used to be 2 apartments but broke down the walls in between. Again, vintage, kitsch and classy interior everywhere!

The breakfast

Our breakfast was at the first floor and near to my room so I could hear the coffee machine rattling at very early hours.
The breakfast options was not big and there were no warm options other than making toast and the coffee machine.
This was for me and my friend F. a bit disappointment but I guess for the price we paid for the stay we shouldn't be complaining I think. Those cakes under the glass bless is yum by the way!

But seeing all these thank-you notes in the breakfast room puts us back in positive cheery mood! Thank you Soggiorno Sogna B&B!

  1. That looks like a lovely little B&B! It's difficult to find nice accommodation that doesn't break the bank, especially in popular cities like Firenze, so I think you did a great job :) can't wait to read more about your trip! x

  3. Looks like a nice little hidden B&B. I've been seeing many people's experiences like this in europe and it seems like the look of these places are simple, rustic and breakfast is very simple with breads and coffee or tea. I totally get why it's like that but for me it's still a bit strange because similar type of accommodations at similar prices are very different back here in south east asia! Then again, I think it's smart that you save on accommodations when you plan to spend most of your time out so it's no biggie!

  4. This is cute and definitely good that you had your Italian friend with you. I haven't stayed in B&B for a long time, but I suppose the closest is a lovely little AIR B&B which I stayed in. It was super cute. A decent place to rest your head after a long day of site seeing is super important, and this place looks lovely and homely!
