HOTSPOT: The Soar Point

EN

My last but not least meal on my final day in Leicester is finally eating fish and chips. I realized I have eaten way to much fried stuff in my mini UK trip of mine but fried stuff and a foodie glutton like me just go hand in hand. And how can you skip fish and chips, the ultimate British food when you are in the UK?

Say that in your best British accent (mine failed).

We had fish and chips at a pub restaurant The Soar Point.

Since my British accent isn’t good I went making my own kind of fun word twists and teased my British friend W. who cringed each time I said: chips and fish or fries and fish. lol sorry not sorry.
And for some reason I keep pronouncing sour instead soar in The Soar Point.

Anyways, on to the food.

The pretty colorful menu and the dish options were screaming at me ‘pick me! Pick me!’ because there were so many delicious sounding options. But I restrained and only ordered fish (cod) & chips and also because I had to catch my train back to London as well.

The food arrived and presentation wise it looks really appetizing and pub-ish as the fish and the chips is served on a tin tray. Even our sauces and cutlery came in this cool tin bucket.

The fish and chips were such a portion that I couldn’t finish it completely sadly but oh man how crispy was that fish batter!

Along with the relaxed and modern pub sphere I really can’t find any faults at The Soar Point. It was sad that I had to catch that train back to London otherwise I’d loved to stay for another hour with proper dessert.

We hadden fish and chips in een typische pub restaurant genaamd: The Soar Point.

 We ordered:
Fish and chips
Extra chips
Fanta
Strawberry & lime cider

In love with the interior and cute little artworks on the walls.

  9. AHHH! I would totally just throw any food restrictions I have out the window when heading into any fish & chip or fried seafood type place! I really love fish & chips but rarely eat it or make it! I usually would have to leave chips because the fish is much more important! Glad that this place was great! :)

  14. Mmm I never went to The Soar Point when I was in the UK for the summer a while ago, but it looks darn delicious. I miss proper fish & chips myself, I'm sure there's gotta be a place around here that can do a decent enough job of making some. Looks fantastic!!!
