Day 1: NYE

EN

My last holiday season was packed of joy and indulges as I’ve mentioned in posts before and this all started with the dearest that came out of Hong Kong!
I haven’t seen them for 1,5 year so I was happy to see them again.
We picked them up at 30th December at the arrivals of the airport which was still in lovely festive deco.

On 31st December we celebrated NYE together at my aunts flat and that was rare to celebrate NYE with so many family members in the same spot! And for my Hongkongese family it was even rarer for them to see firework from a close distance since it’s forbidden to fire up your own fireworks in Hong Kong.

My aunt is an amazing cook and she cooked amazing NYE home meals for us. I don’t know about you but homemade food is just the best. Especially among the dearest and the nearest. Well maybe not the nearest in technical speak since they live on exact 9,277 kilometres (5,765 miles) away from me but my families of mum’s side are always very tied.

  This NYE was the best.

I love airports! Honest!

Lets eat!
I've eaten lovely tender squid, suckling prawns in tomatosauce and the best potato pancakes ever!

  15. So nice! How I understand when you say about being them your nearest family, it also happens the same with us, my mom's family which is living more far away (not as many kms as yours though) is very tied. Glad that you got to spend some time this New Year's eve with them!!
