Miniature for Dummies! (tips + tricks)

EN

I’ve been sculpting miniatures with Fimo clay for awhile and based on my own experience, I’d like to share you some handy tricks and tips!

Almost everything crafty I selftaught myself. We live in a era where social media plays a huge part of our lives. Nowadays you can learn how to play an instrument (hello Youtube) without spending a dime! Well, at most your electric bill/internet but still.

They say you are never too old to learn a thing, a skill, an ability. And I agree.

NL

Knead your clay until it feels warm. This avoids cracks!

Always clean your tools after use!

Mixing colors to create your own customized colors is also a lot easier with Fimo Soft.

Left to right: old mascara brush, rubber gloves, old toothbrush, thin slicer, toothpick, needle, blunt knife, dotting pens, cutters, clay gun

When working with red colors, save them for last as it stain a lot. Especially on light colors such as white etc.

And then goes in a tupperware c:

Weird? Maybe. But I store all the leftovers in this blank cd case. Safe a lot of space as well!

  15. You make it sounds so easy, but I bet I'd still find a way to mess up, lol :-) You need some fingerspitzengefühl for this, which I think I seriously lack.
