DIY: camera lens cozy

EN

I’ve bought my first SLR camera somewhere in 2009. This camera is my baby and responsible for all the visual images of my blog.
I also love camera accessories and such but the thing is that they can be super overpriced, especially bags the leather ones. Hmpf.

Anyway, that can be solved by making your own with a game of Do It Yourself! And recently I have made a nice crochet camera lens cozy! With a lens cover that be open and closed!

I’m no pro in crochet and only know the basics, so if you know the basics of crochet as well, you can absolutely nail this one!

No rocket science dus! Dus als ik het kan, kan jij het ook!

You'll need:  your desired acrylic wool, crochethook 3.00 or 4.00mm, a pair of scissors and a button

Carmen from Creacarmen suggested me to create an extra row for support, which is a real good tip of her!

I love it so much!
The Steps:
 Lens cover
Row 1. Form a magic loop with 6 chains.
Row 2. chain 1. 2x singel crochet all the way.
Row 3. chain 1. 1x single crochet first stitch, 2x single crochet in next stitch. Repeat until end of this row.
Row 4. chain 1. 1x single crochet first stitch, 1x single crochet next stitch, 2x single crochet in the next stitch (3rd one). Repeat until end of this row.

So basically you'll add 1 more of your 1x single crochet in every new row.
Your circle will get bigger eventually. All lenses have different sizes so I
recommend you to measure it. Mine has 6 rows total.

 The body
Once you've finished the lens cover, make a long chain. This will be the
length of the diameter of your lens. Again, all lenses have different sizes,
so measure measure! Mine has 40 chain total.

Row 1. 40 chain.
Row 2. chain 1. single crochet all the way.
REPEAT

  13. Wow so adorable, both the color and the design. But would the tiny wool piece makes it more dusty Hmm I'm just wondering because normally wool material always have those little things coming out, quite annoying in my opinion

  19. It looks so cute and I love the colors you chose for it. The iciness of the blue and white make it perfect for winter, but since it's pastel, it should work for summer and spring too!
