Food in Process: dessert a lá 'Walnut Mousse'

EN

I think we are all familiar with the mainstream dessert ‘chocolate mousse’ but why not dare yourself and eat outofthebox style? So step aside chocolate mousse and say hello to walnut mousse!

NL

Ik denk dat iedereen wel fan is van de welbekende 'chocolade mousse'. En als je net als ik een zoetekauw ben en van avontuur en nieuwe dingen hou: probeer de walnoten mousse eens!
Da recipe  serves 4: 85 gram walnuts + extra for garnish, 1 egg yolk, 30 gram sugar, 1 gelatin sheet (or 2 tsp), 100 ml milk, ½ cup cream + extra for garnish

ahhh..... the smell of fresh roasted nuts, mhmm...........

Blend, pause, scrape, blend, pause, scrape etc...

Its sad but I don't have regular dessert glasses so I just pour them in wine glasses.... Yes I'm putting them on my wishlist.

Da Steps:
  1. Place the walnuts on a baking tray and bake for 10 min. in a 200°C oven.
  2. Place the gelatin sheet on a tray with a bit of water (1 tbsp.)
  3. Get your blender ready. Drop the roasted walnuts and pour the milk in it. Blend this together until really smooth.
  4. Get a clean bowl and place the egg yolk + sugar and beat them until creamy.
  5. Add the milky walnut mixture and soaked gelatin in the the egg mixture.
  6. Fold the chilled whipped cream in this mixture, little at a time. When everything is combined and all smooth, pour it into nice dessert glasses.
  7. Chill in the fridge for atleast 4 hours! Decorate with cream and nuts c:
Good luck!
