DIY: crochet pumpkin pie

EN

Mhmm what would the world be without pumpkins. They are delicious and colorful vegetables that comes in lots of shapes. Halloween is almost here and I bet people are looking forward to carve out a nice scary pumpkin head c:

Tho Holland isn’t a big Halloween country so I rather work with yarn and hook and create something like a sliced crocheted pumpkin pie. And that is something I want to share in today’s DIY post!
NL

Wat zijn pompoenen toch heerlijke lekkernijen. En zo gezond as well c: Ik vind vooral pompoen soep oh zo lekker! Like applepie.

Ik moet het nu maar doen met een gehaakt versie van mijn pompoentaart en dit wordt ook het hoofdonderwerp van deze DIY post!

Ch = chain, sc = single crochet, dec = decrease single crochet, st = stitch

An easy way to create a pompom! Trim in desired size and hotglue it with a glue gun.

STEPS:
tart base back
R1: ch 9
R2: ch 1, sc in the first st until the end
R3: repeat r2
R4 (scalloped edge): ch 3, dch in the 1st st, hdch in the same st, skip next st, sc in the next st, ch 2, dch in the same st, hdch in the same st, REPEAT until end.

 filling
The length depends on the thickness of the yarn. Cotton is thinner than wool so it need a longer chain.
When use cotton chain 13. When use wool chain 11.
R1: ch 11 or 13
R2: ch 1, sc all the way
REPEAT

  10. i just can't get over how amazing your skills are. i learned how to crochet years ago and the language just completely threw me off. i really felt like i was learning a new language! i am working on a scarf now - just a plain ole scarf - and i am having the same problems i have always had.. it keeps shrinking! :)

  11. I don't like pumpkin but this is so cute! I've always wanted to know how to crochet; I find that you could make way more things by crocheting than knitting.

  15. How cute! :) I know the basics about knitting which will only allow me to knit a simple wool scarf but seeing this I should try to learn crochet.

And also, pumpkin pie is my favorite so I'm a little biased :) I've been wanting to learn how to crochet for the longest time, just haven't had the time to do so - I really want to make my own warm things for winter! It's on my list, though, I must learn soon! Thanks for sharing this cool and cute DIY!
