Food in Process: Chai tea muffins with ginger!

Cold weathers comes with certain of food that's heartwarming
and comforting. For me, I like to have lots of tea with a
dainty bite like a muffin. Adding spices and herbs like ginger in your
food can make you cough and sniffle-free throughout the harsh
winter.

Ginger is like my holy grail, it has lots of benefits for you with
its antiviral functions that'd totally knock out that runny nose of
yours. But of course prevention is better than cure so recently
I've made muffins with crystallized ginger and
tea flavor.

Da Recipe: 225 gram plain flour, 1 tbsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. ground ginger, pinch of salt125 gram candied ginger, 4 tbsp. sugar, 1 cup of strong tea (I've used chai tea flavor), 50 gram butter, 1/3 cup natural yogurt, 2 eggs  serves 12 

Recently I start writing down my recipes on paper cuz I tend to forget when I try to post a recipe-post..

Also my favorite tea at the moment.



Da Steps: 
  1. Pre-heat oven to 200°C and line up muffin pan with baking paper. 
  2. Sift flour, baking powder, ground ginger and salt. 
  3. Add butter into the flour and mix into you have a fine crumbly, sand texture. 
  4. Add the 4 tablespoon sugar, cup of tea into the egg mixture. Mix mix mix!
  5. With this egg mixture add it to the flour mixture. Stir in yogurt and the candied ginger, combine well.
  6. Scoop it into the lined muffin pan and bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.

  17. I just made a batch of chai muffins and substituted ginger with powdered cardamom and cinnamon. Does yoghurt make them softer and moister, as compared to milk?

    1. Hiya Snickers! The effect of the yogurt will turn the muffins fluffier so yes, softer and it holds the moist better c:
