Deserving a second chance

Today 27th May 2013 I am officially saying goodbye
to chicken wings, Caesar salads,  chicken nuggets, chicken
noodle soup, in short: all chicken dishes. As some of you
people know I have been cutting off eating meat and
today I have decided to let the chicken go. Boo.

The rational thought behind this is the untasty look of how
animals being slaughtered. I'm a real animal lover ya know.
What meat concern, I still eat seafood. I'm not sure if I'll scrape
 down this one. Will see.

So! Lets continue with the actual topic of this post: DIY.
I love being crafty and fixing things. When a piece of
jewellery is broken, I always try to find a way to repair
it. Even the extreme damaged ones. I just can not find it
in my heart to throw the old but still useful pieces of
metal, chains, beads etc. Some of my friends finds me a
hoarder really..

All you need is a plier. And some creativity of course.

Create a design in your head first: where do you want to attach the charms, will it be a 'potpourri' style? etc.

Apart from recycling jewellery, I've also made some carrot cake charms that is made from Fimo clay.

This was my last chicken meal: 'chicken kebab' pizza by Domino's - took 2 slices of it. It was a nice goodbye.

  5. you are so talented! and kudos to you for letting go of chicken. i have gone back and forth with the whole meat thing. the same reason as you, i call myself an animal lover and yet i still eat meat. i support cruelty free but still at the end of the day, i wanted to give up meat. i slowly began to transfer my products over and bought products with the leaping bunny label. hopefully one day i'll be able to let go of the meat thing. kudos again and good luck to you!

  16. You are just so always creative :)

Congratulations! Welcome to the world of being semi-meat free! My brother is like you, he doesn't like other meats so much but he loves fish so I don't think he could ever go vegetarian, but I never liked fish (okay I lied, I was OBSESSED with sushi), but it helps to know that all animals suffer (even fish feel pain), and it was quick to stop.

If it helps with seafood, I would watch The Cove. Very eye opening!

  26. Wow - cutting out meat is a massive lifestyle change, I applaud you and good luck! I tried cutting out meat for lent once, but it didn't work out well! xx

  27. Oooh, you're cutting out meat? Kudos to you!

I' partly vegetarian, meaning I rarely eat meat but only eat chicken like twice a month when I visit the parents. It does upset them that I don't eat meat. Only reason I've cut is out is that I don't like the taste, even chicken!

    Anyway...

Loved this DIY post. It is Oh so inspiring.

  36. Vegetarian? That must be so hard! I'm not sure I could live without meat. Mind you, I do agree that the way these poor animals live and are raised is not ethical at all. Which is why I go for game meat my family hunted as much as I can. That way, at least they lived a happy life in the woods and didn't suffer. Plus, we waste very little. :)

I really love your talent at making cute things. I still have that little fimo bread charm you gave to all the contestants of your first giveaway, back when you only had 100 followers. Eheh. It is so cute! :)

  38. Amazing pieces! You are very talented! I love silver and everything that has the word love - so, your new bracelets made by yourself are really great, very much my taste! The carrot charms to! I also like making bracelets, necklaces or bags... by the way, welcome to being vegetarian! I am since I was a child and I never felt the need of eating meet, but I respect my friends who say "I can't eat without it". Anyway, each as they like, of course, but I think you feel great without it!
