Papa Cooks

One of my favorite Chinese
soup/dessert: rice dumpling soup! My dad
made some last weekend. Speaking of
dumplings, Chinese New Year is about
to happen in 4 days!

The Chinese New Year is selected into
12 animals of the Chinese horoscope. This
year will be the year of the Snake which
happens to be my horoscope. The last
Snake year was of course 12 years ago.
Its scary how fast the decade went with
the light!
My dad just announced to have Chinese
hotpot with CNY! Yay!
My dad decided to add sweet potato as well.

Working on some cute pixel icons!

  31. I love tang yuan, especially making them together with my grandmother :) I guess the older generation really have the tradition and passion in making them, I just hope I don't stop when I get older :( And I love it most with black sesame and peanut fillings! Which reminds me... I was busy rolling 24kg worth of pineapple tarts worth for the last 2 weeks :( Ahhhhhh!

  34. Wow, this is the best post from you so far :) watching papa cook is always strangely comforting, and something I took for granted when younger. At first I thought these were tang yuan, or yuan xiao; have you had them? They're similar to these, except with black sesame at the center. I wish you and your family a very 新年快乐!
