Food In Process: Black Sesame Mango Cake

Dad: Did you bake a Western cake or Asian cake?
Me: ermmm Western...?
Dad: Oh. Okay *walks off*
Me: .. :c

It's not that my dad disliking
Western cakes and stuff but he prefers
Asian food including the cakes.

So! For Fathers day I baked him a
cake with Asian influence to satisfy him.
Ingredients such as black sesame
and mango were added. And yup, I made
this whole idea up. And surprisingly
the combination is quite good c:

Mind to try it out for me!?

Da Recipe: 4 eggs, 200gr butter, 180gr caster sugar,
140gr plain flour, 70gr black sesame powder, 2 tbsp baking
powder, 1 cup fresh whip cream, 1 mango, veggie oil/spray oil
(cake base credits to Lorraine Pascale

Icing cream: 1 cup fresh whip cream, 30gr caster sugar

 1. Wash hands and turn your favorite music on. Cuz we can't bake
if there is no music in the background c:

2. Get ingredients & tools ready!

3. Preheat oven 180C/350F/gas 4. Line a 20cm/8" tin with veg oil and
baking paper.

4. Sieve flour, baking powder and the black sesame powder and set a side.

5. Cream together the butter and sugar in a large bowl until they begin to go pale. Add half of the eggs and half of the flour and mix well. Add the rest of the eggs, flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder and beat for a minute or two until the mixture is uniform.

6. Pour into the cake tin and bake in the oven for 40 minutes. Check with a skewer if the cake is ready. Leave the cake cool in the cake tin.

7. Slice the cake in 2 layers horizontally.

8. Beat with an electric mixer the cream and sugar till stiff peak.

9. Spread on the first layer of the cake with cream and place the other one on top.
Spread the cream carefully around the edges/top.

10. Decorate with mango and black sesame and serve c:

And my dad loved it! He says it was yummy c:

  19. that's so sweet of you to bake your dad a cake! lol my parents are the same way.. they prefer asian treats as apposed to the way western treats are made. i guess it's because a lot of times there's too much sugar in western desserts. cool cake! it looks really delicious and dainty!!
