Food In Process: Sushi

@Previous post reply: "The green tea latte is actually from a instant package: add boiling
water to the content and you're done, the brand is: Maxim Stick Menu Green Tea Latte. The
second picture is a typical Dutch pastry called 'tompouce'."

ARGH, I have accidentally
deleted 6 comments from my previous post.
Sorry :c

I wish Blogger created a trashbin for
comments. That way I can still retrieve them. Or
a 'lastwarning' message with "are you SURE you
want to delete them?"

On Tuesday, make sushi for dinner - was written
on my phone diary.
All the ingredients were steady and my
tools were ready. I was pretty excited about
it, as I never made sushi before.

It looked easy on the eye, when following the
recipe by my favorite Japanese Youtube cook:
Cookingwithdog. She is specialized in
making Japanese dishes and I LOVE her!!

I decided not to use the good stuff like
avocado yet, as I know I might
screw things up and I don't want
to waste it.

Check out the pictures!

Add sugar, salt and rice vinegar, so good stuff!

I had trouble with getting them really tight together... oh well

  5. I think you need to use some more water when putting the rice on the seaweed. And I have a good method to roll the seaweed: I put the ends of the strawmat together and then grab the middle and start to roll. Not the normal way sushi usually gets rolled but it works for me :)

  29. You look very busy there rushing around your kitchen!

Actually I find a great way of getting them real tight is when you are rolling it, holding the bamboo mat with your thumbs of your hands, and using your fingers to actually hold the filling...if you see what I mean? and then push down reaaaal hard, loosen your grip on the mat a little and then roll. Afterwards I usually roll the whole thing up in the mat and give it a good squeeze. You get a little bit of a kink from where the bamboo overlaps. If it bothers you, you can use plastic food wrap to do that too :)

    Looks yummy nontheless!
